From the 7th until the 9th of June this year, the third edition of the AW Summit will be held in Mamaia Romania. It is one of the largest live cam industry events for networking, seminars, great parties and of course the AW Award show on the 8th. This is an interview with one of the organizers and PR rep Alexandra. Hi Alexandra, how old are you and where are you from? I am 27 and I live in Eastern Romania. How did you come in contact with the cambusiness? I never liked office work and for that reason i always chose interactive jobs. I worked in sales ever since i started working, i was corporate relation manager for different financial institutions. There came a moment i decided it's time to move on and try something else. One day i saw an advertisement that a live cam company is looking for a public relations manager. I never though that live cam companies have such corporate structure. I went to the interview and got hired, the rest is history. How would you describe yourself and what is your area of expertise? I like to think of myself as a cheerful and positive person and this helps a lot in my everyday work. Building connections and bringing more and more people to our events is not a small task which would be impossible without a positive attitude. Knowing that all the effort will pay out and at the end we will create an experience what people enjoy and will return for more in the next year. What is it you do at the/ for the AWsummit and AW awards? I am the event organizer slash PR representative of both events. On one hand I contact people and keep up the connection with them in order to make sure they attend the events and all their questions are answered. It is a profitable task, as I managed to meet fantastic people through this in the last year. And from event organizer side, as you might guess, I am the one who makes sure that even the smallest detail is put in its place and every staff member on the events know what they have to do, so guests can focus on what really matters for them on the summit. Can you tell a bit more about the AW summit and AW awards? AW Summit is the greatest international live cam industry event. This year we organize it for the third time in Romania, in the Mamaia seaside resort. Every prestigious character of the domain will represent itself starting from live cam studios, through cam sites to traffic companies, affiliates, payment&billing etc. Originally we focused on studios and cam sites as that seemed to be the most relevant connection, but as the business evolves, demand has changed as well, thus we widened the spectrum of the attendees as well. Really everyone will find what interests him or her in Mamaia. Seminars, speed networking, presentations, you name it. And of course let's not forget about the huge parties. And the Awards, which will be organized for the second time this year is a festive way to honor those who contributed in a remarkable way to the industry. We celebrate and dine together while on the stage, between giving out the awards, singers, dancers and various artists entertain us. What do you like best about organizing shows like this and are you planning to continue and/or do you have other plans for the future? I am definitely all in for more of the AW summits. We often boast with organizing bigger and better shows each year, but actually it is really something that we are committed to. So as soon as one show is over, we start to plan the next one. It never ends. And I think actually this is what I like the most about it. It is an endless mix and mingle with great people, and the responsibility to evolve the event each year keeps my mind stimulated, always looking for new ways, how to amaze the audience.
