Today, I have the pleasure of sitting down with Brutus K, a well-known and respected male performer. I’ve gotten to know Brutus over the years at industry shows and conferences, and I’m excited to bring you this interview to learn more about his journey, experiences, and unique perspective as a male cam model. Whether you’re a dedicated fan, a fellow creator, or simply curious about the world of camming, Brutus has plenty of wisdom and stories to share. So without further ado—let’s get started!

Brutus, thank you for doing this interview. Let's start with some basics: how old are you and where are you from?

Hey there. It’s nice to be in your interview. It's been a while since I did a written interview; I think my last one was before the pandemic, and since then everything went on Zoom, so my last interviews were on Zoom or Skype a few years ago. I am 33 years old and I am based in Europe.

Do you tell your friends and family you are a cam model?

When I started, I just told my mother and my brother, but as the years went by, I also told some close friends. Right now, I would say all the people who are important to me and understand a bit about this kind of work know what I do. Of course, I still have some family members, like grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins, who still don't know about it. It's not that I desperately want to hide it; I just prefer to keep it a secret since the mentality is different in these parts of the world. If they find out eventually, fine, I will deal with that when the moment comes.

How did you come in contact with the cam business?

I was working at the gym as a fitness trainer when someone approached me, telling me about this job and asked if I was interested in doing it. I knew very little about it, just that you are paid in dollars per minute, and my thoughts back then were that you needed to be very muscular, as a man, to actually do well. So I was surprised because I thought: “Hey, if this guy (who was really muscular and in great shape) came to me to ask me this, then that means I look okay for it.” For a while, I was going to university because I had exams, working as a trainer in the gym, and at night I was camming for 3–4 hours. I knew some guys from the gym were doing it, but I never had the confidence or the knowledge to start it on my own.

Is webcam modeling your main job or do you do other things besides it?

Now it is. These days, it is really difficult to have a regular job and be able to do this kind of work part-time, because working in adult requires many sacrifices and a lot of time. When I started, there was no social media connected to the websites; I don’t think the websites allowed that nor did they see the potential of connecting Instagram and X to the cam sites. So you only focused on the sites where you worked, stayed online, and once in a while you would upload some new pictures and videos. There was no need for high-quality videos or pictures, just basic digital camera photos and respecting the rules.

How would you describe yourself as a cam model?

I would say I am a down-to-earth kind of guy. I like to think I am doing a good job there, treating people nicely, having some laughs, helping them with advice if they ever need it, and offering them a nice time because that's why they engage with models. I don't like to give people false dreams or create hopes for them just for financial comfort. I tell things as they are—if they like it, fine; if they don't, also fine. It’s better to be honest and say what needs to be said from the beginning; it is a lot healthier for both parties. I also don't like to take crap from people. I am a nice guy and I demand the same treatment. When people are rude, I just change my attitude towards them, not talking too much or being friendly.

What do you think are some common misconceptions about male cam models?

brutus2It depends who you talk to; there will always be two sides. One side will say that it is something cool, “good for you,” and they will appreciate that you are good-looking enough to make people pay just to talk to you. Then there is the other side that will say, “Oh, so you are gay and you stick fingers up your body parts for money,” or “You can't do better than getting naked in front of people on cam, sticking fingers into your body parts and masturbating relentlessly,” “Can you still get an erection?” “I bet it is very sore.” It depends who you talk to, and like I mentioned before, the mentality is different in some areas. And these examples are from people who are not in the industry. From people who actually work in the industry, it can also be a positive and, surprisingly, a negative reaction.

Have you noticed any differences in how male and female models are treated within the industry?

In my country, men are seen a lot better when doing this kind of work than women. If we are talking about OnlyFans, I think both genders are seen the same—not so bad. If we are talking about webcam, then men are definitely seen a lot better than women. Women are seen as prostitutes, dumb, not able to have a normal job and reduced to this; they are selling their bodies for money, and the list can go on, unfortunately.

Where can we see you and how long have you been working there?

My first platform was Flirt4Free. Shortly after that, I started working on LiveJasmin, then Streamate, iFriends, and ImLive. I toggled between them because on Flirt4Free I was assigned through a virtual studio (the guy from the gym signed me through his studio), and at the same time, I did not have a good computer back then to run all sites nor a good internet speed. So for a while, I did only two of them, giving up on iFriends and ImLive—either Flirt4Free and LiveJasmin or Flirt4Free and Streamate. After a while, I signed up on OnlyFans, then Chaturbate, and two years later also on Stripchat. So now I work on four platforms: OnlyFans and JustFor.Fans.

Do you also have a personal website?

Do you have a special room prepared in your house for your shows?

Yes, I call it “the place where the magic happens” :)). For many years, I worked in the same place where I lived. Now I have separated them; I work in a different apartment than where I live. I have this possibility, so I do it. It is much better—of course, it has some disadvantages, like the time you spend going to the other place, but mentally it is better for me that they are separated.

How was your first modeling experience?

I think I still have the recording of my first private show on Flirt4Free. It was strange; I couldn't believe someone was paying me by the minute, I was excited by that. I think it was a short show :)) probably because I did not do so well. And I do remember that the guy who signed me up told me to keep the members as long as possible in the private. So I tried stalling as much as possible. I know, lame attitude, but I was young back then and did not know how to interact with members online.

Does being a cam model interfere with your personal (sex) life?

I would say it interfered in a negative way in my personal life, because I was making a lot of money back then and I did not pay attention to what it was doing to me, mentally and emotionally. Right now, I am more careful to put myself and the people I love ahead of money, tips, likes, or being available for everyone no matter what time. I think in this industry it is very hard to be emotionally balanced, because of the interactions that you have with various people with various behaviors—some of them being there for fun, to bully others, to just “let off some steam,” to make friends, to fall in love, because their boss is mean, or just because they have a lot of money and don't know what to do with it.

On a sexual level, it did good for me. I discovered many kinks there, I learned new things about my body :), it made me more open to try new things, and it made me understand that people are different and what might be appealing for me might not be such a nice thing for others.

What's the most appealing thing about your job?

What I like about my job is the fact that I can make money and at the same time develop my imagination. I can meet people all over the world, learn a lot of things about the countries where they live—you could say I learned a lot of geography from being online ;). I made a few friends during my years working as a cam model; I guess this is true for everyone out there who works like me. Sooner or later, you find someone and you bond, you create a friendship, and in my case, I actually helped people just by being their friend. I like that I am in control of my own work, that I built everything from zero to what it is right now, and I am proud of that. Though I must admit these days it is really hard to do everything by yourself.

What do you like least about your job?

The thing that I like the least is rude people in the chat rooms, people who just come there to get free dirty talk so they can “be happy” and expect you to talk to them until they finish “the job.” I dislike when people try to scam me, when they interrogate me about things that they could actually find if they would read my profile. And I guess the thing that I hate is the fact that by doing this, many people took my pictures without my permission and created fake accounts everywhere, scamming other people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

There are so many stories about that. I would get people in my room saying I promised to visit them, asking me how my grandmother is, and so on. Eventually, I would find out that someone out there (mostly from Africa) was using my pictures and videos to create a “love story.” I can only say this: if all the money from the scams had actually entered my pockets, I would never have to work for the rest of my life. That is how much scammers managed to take from innocent people.

The other frustrating part was that when those people realized I am the real person, they never spent any money with me, not even $5, some of them. Their hearts were broken and that was it—they found out the truth and they stopped coming to the online world. Luckily, I actually made friends because some of them were willing to meet the real me and we talk even to this day. They joke and say: “I never thought meeting you would be the most hurtful period of my life,” because they were heartbroken by the scammers. At the same time, they are happy we are friends now.

If you could do it all over again with all the knowledge you have now, would you still be a cam model?

I would definitely do it all over again, but better, with fewer mistakes. It would be like going back to school with all the information that you gathered until now. I could manage my content, the quality of the videos and pictures, my shows, and my appearance a lot better.

What's your view on the cam industry in general?

Honestly, I think it still has a lot of potential. I also think sites like OnlyFans “killed” the webcam industry a bit. I think people are not coming for friendships or for love like they did a while ago. Now it’s more about shows. It is really hard these days to have someone in your room supporting you a lot and constantly. You need to be a lot more active than a few years ago; for some people that can be a struggle, even for me sometimes.

What do you wish more people understood about male cam modeling?

Not really, everybody can believe and understand whatever they want. It is just a job like any other, but in a way a lot different than the others. As long as nobody gets hurt, from both sides, people shouldn't have a problem with this work.

Do you have a funny story or experience to share?

brutus 3I do. Maybe way too many stories :)). I will tell you one: One time I was complaining online that my old car did not start anymore, because it was too old. I was telling people how upset I was and that sometimes I just hit the wheel with my hands because it can be very frustrating wanting to go somewhere and right in that moment the car doesn't want to start. So somebody took me in a private show and wanted me to imitate exactly how upset I am when that happens and to recreate the scene of my bad mood in the car, with a lot of details about turning the ignition, kicking the brake pedal and the clutch pedal, accelerating to pump up more gas in the car. We did shows like this one about 10–15 times.

Another story: One time in a private show someone wanted me to “eat” them, play in the background some sounds from YouTube (sounds of food being digested in the stomach), and describe his trip from the moment I put him into my mouth until he is completely digested by the acid in my stomach...with lots of details. :))

What are your plans for the future besides cam modeling?

I have no plans. I just live my life and stay close to my family because they are the people that matter the most to me.

Any tips for new cam models?

  • Just be yourself, don't copy anyone because it won't work! Just steal some ideas and make them your own. Adapt them to your personality.
  • Be patient!
  • Always be in control of your own emotions because you will need that in this line of work!
  • Never let money take over your life!
  • Take time for yourself and your loved ones; tips are not everything! In ten years from now, only your family will remember that you worked so much that you did not have time for them.

What's your motto?

I don't really have a motto, but if you insist:
“Do whatever makes you happy in life, without hurting others!”
“Don't look for someone to make you happy. Make yourself happy and that person will be drawn to you!”
“Money can't buy you happiness. It can, however, buy you a Mercedes convertible to go look for it!”
“Be the person you want to find!”
“Out of a good-looking dish you rarely eat alone!”
