In the Spotlight with BCharlee

In the Spotlight will be a new returning topic on WeCamgirls. Today's guest is BCharlee. Thank you for your time and enjoy the read!

How old are you and where are you from?
I just turned 28 this past weekend, and I'm from Ohio in the United States.

Is webcam modelling your day job?
Yes, it is my fulltime job.

How did you come in contact with the cambusiness?
I was living in Austin, Texas almost 3 years ago, in a mutually beneficial relationship with a gentleman, complaining about how much I hated my job and thinking I might dance (something I hadn't done in 5 years). He told me I would be good at webcam modelling, which I had never heard of, so I checked out for a week straight, and he invested in me with a lot of lingerie, a new computer and webcam and I did pretty good considering I didn't know what I was doing. I was able to quit my job and cam until I moved back to Ohio a few months later.

How would you describe yourself as a camgirl?
Business-oriented. Charlee Starr isn't a persona to me, it is my business. I take this very seriously. I do tons and tons of research about everything before I jump in. I like to think I am ahead of the curve technology wise. I am constantly looking for the latest trends.

Where can we see you and how long have you been working there?
I consider myself "independent" except for working NiteFlirt. ( I started on NiteFlirt at the end of September. I consider it to be my moneymaker. I would like to think that I have the NiteFlirt hustle down because I am almost always #1 in 2/3 of my categories.

Have you also been working on different sites?
Since I am independent you can find me on CamModelDirectory (, CamGirlServices (, and GirlsPrivateCam ( I have a profile on MyFreeCams ( but I only sign on MFC once every couple weeks.

Do you also have a personal website? it is a work in progress

Do you have a special room prepared in your house for your shows?
I do! I have a corner of the half finished basement I live in. I bought curtains from IKEA to give it privacy. A regular of mine bought me a second flat screen monitor and wall mounts, so I sit on a flat futon with both computers in front of me. I have a tool bench that's converted into my toy closet next to me, and on the other side is a queen size bed I bought. I keep all of my camming clothes in an organizer I bought at IKEA too.

How was your first modelling experience?
As weird as it sounds, I don't remember. I have a horrible memory and it doesn't stand out as anything crazy- so it must have been really boring.

What's the most appealing thing about your job?
I am my own boss. I make my own schedule. I do what I want.

What do you like least about your job?
Some of the guys I deal with remind me of my first husband in a creepy gross kind of way. It makes me throw up sometimes hah

Do you have a funny story or experience to share?
When me and my second husband were still together (we split last month) every time I would get done with a private that had cheesy dialect or something fucked up I would always go over and mock the custie in a playful way and he would play back.

What are your plans for the future besides cammodelling?
I'm in college, I have been for 9 years. If I stick with it, going half time, I will graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I have a criminal record though, and when you Google, Bing, and Yahoo search my real name my mugshot pops up. I am going to have a very hard time finding a job in the real world. My mom is always saying "you're going to regret putting all this porn of yourself online" but WAKEUP MOM- I am more embarrassed about my mugshot being associated with my real name on google, than some topless pics being associated with a fake name on porn sites.

Any tips for new camgirls?
EDUCATE YOURSELF! Do as much reading as you can on forums, blogs and just with other camgirls in general. Don't believe it unless you've read it from 3 different sources.

Also- INVEST IN YOUR YOURSELF AND YOUR FUTURE. Buy a new computer. Buy better lingerie. Get your nails done every two weeks. How do you expect someone to invest in you if you can't invest in yourself?

BCharlee, our stories sound so similar. I also am trying to build an adult career after dealing with my own legal issue. I have the education and experience in the corporate world but have the same issue with the background check. I think it just makes you stronger and more focused and determined to make this work. In the end, after you have all the experience of building your business- website, branding, promotion, you can really do anything you set your mind to. Doing this has allowed me to stabilize after a really rough year, and when it's time to move on to something new, I know I will have a new arsenal of knowledge to be in any kind of business for myself. I wish you all the best in your future and kudos for not letting your past dictate your future.
