How does Cam4 work?

As a broadcaster on Cam4, understanding your viewers and their spending behaviors can greatly enhance your live show experience. 

Different Users

Gold Member: These users have purchased a Gold Membership, granting them exclusive access to certain options and contests on the site. Their username is in Gold and they have an avatar. Note that this color is not related to the chip balance.

Moderator: Moderators assist with chat management while you perform, wielding tools like silence, kick, or ban to handle abusive viewers. Their authority is limited to your room and doesn't extend to the entire site.They have the sign “Mod” next to their username.

Basic Member: Basic members have a Cam4 account but lack the features of a Gold account. Their usernames won't display an avatar in front of their name.

Admin: Admins are Cam4 team members responsible for user assistance and ensuring site rules are respected. 

Coach: These Cam4 team members provide guidance and support to models, offering valuable insights to enhance their performance.

Notifications: Keep an eye out for these notifications when specific members enter your chat room:

"A member of the Cam4 Admins team has entered your chat."

"A member of the Coach Cam4 team has entered your chat."

Identifying Viewer Tipping Tiers

With the Token Indicator, viewers in your chat are represented by color-coded usernames, each corresponding to one of five token tiers based on their spending over the past two weeks. Here's what each tier signifies:

• Tier 1: White - Viewers who have not spent any tokens in the past 2 weeks.
• Tier 2: Blue - Viewers who have spent at least 1 token but not more than 19 in the past 2 weeks.
• Tier 3: Purple - Viewers who have spent at least 20 tokens but not more than 99 in the past 2 weeks.
• Tier 4: Yellow - Viewers who have spent at least 100 tokens but not more than 500 in the past 2 weeks.
• Tier 5: Orange - Viewers who have spent at least 500 tokens in the past 2 weeks.

Cam4 Ranking

At Cam4 they have a ranking system. Not all models can be on the first page but you can get a higher ranking by enhancing your cam shows. They offer the following tips:

• Learn tips and tricks for getting started, scheduling and promoting shows, and engaging with viewers on the Performer Training page.
• Watch informative videos like LIGHTING 101 to learn how lighting can enhance your cam shows.
• Subscribe to our official YouTube channel for more How-To videos on performing on Cam4.
• Ensure top-notch performance of your computer, internet connection, webcam, lighting, and microphone before going live.
• Test your internet and webcam connection to avoid glitches and maintain high-quality broadcasts.
• Regularly broadcast and inform viewers about your schedule through Cam4 camming schedules or social media.
• Enable tipping games like Roll-the-Dice (RTD) to keep viewers excited and engaged.
• Spice up your shows with new toys or outfits to keep viewers entertained and interested.
• Promote yourself on Cam4 social media platforms for increased visibility and engagement.

Boost

Besides the regular ranking, you have the option to get a higher position in a specific directory for a short period of time, by boosting your profile. The boost lasts for 5 minutes initially. If you haven't attracted 10 unique viewers during that time, the boost will extend to a maximum of 30 minutes, allowing you to gain those viewers and improve your ranking once the boost period ends.

Here's how it works:

After starting a live broadcast, you'll see a new BOOST button on your screen. Boosted broadcasters will be evenly distributed among the top 25% of all cams based on their rankings compared to each other. So, the lower your ranking, the more positions you'll gain using Boost. To activate the feature, simply click on the "Boost Now" button.

Boosting yourself for a full 5 minutes costs 25 tokens. When you click on "Proceed," the cost of the BOOST will be deducted from your Cam4 account, and your cam will be re-positioned on the directory page.

What happens when the BOOST starts?

You'll receive a message in your chat informing you of who purchased the boost. A bar on your broadcast window will slowly fill up as the time runs out. The BOOST button becomes inactive, and the text changes to "Boost Active," including a countdown.

What happens when the BOOST ends?

The button will revert to "Boost" and become active again, allowing you to click on it. You'll receive a message in the chat window informing you that the BOOST has ended and displaying how many viewers you gained during that BOOST. Your directory position will change, possibly not back to your original position, as your new position reflects increases in viewers due to the boost.

Cam4 Games Center

Cam4 has multiple games you can use and enjoy to generate more income and entertain your viewers.

Roll the Dice:

Roll the Dice is a game that adds an element of chance to live broadcasts. Broadcasters can set a price per roll and define six prizes for players to win. Once the game is started, all viewers in the room will have access to the "Play Roll the Dice" button. Clicking on this button opens a game window where viewers can see the price per roll and the potential prizes. With a simple click, viewers can roll the dice and randomly win one of the predefined prizes. After a roll, the game pauses for one minute to allow the broadcaster to award the prize. If needed, broadcasters can reset the timer to resume the game quickly.

Token Keno:

Token Keno brings the excitement of the classic lottery game to Cam4 broadcasts. Broadcasters can set up to 12 prizes with the cost of their choice. Once the game is started, viewers can access the "Play Token Keno" button and select squares on the game board to reveal hidden prizes. Each square corresponds to a prize with a specific cost to unlock. After unlocking a prize, viewers receive a chat notification, and the game pauses briefly to allow the broadcaster to acknowledge the win. The game continues until all squares are picked or the broadcaster decides to end the game.

Spin the Wheel:

Spin the Wheel adds a fun and dynamic element to live broadcasts. Broadcasters can set up a range of prizes and a price per spin. Viewers can then pay the price to spin the wheel and win a random prize. Once the game is started, viewers can access the "Play Spin the Wheel" button and spin the wheel for a chance to win exciting prizes. After each spin, the game pauses briefly to allow the broadcaster to acknowledge the prize won. The game continues until the broadcaster decides to end it.

How to get started with the games

To access Cam4 Games Center and start enjoying these tipping games, broadcasters simply need to download the C4Broadcaster app on their Android devices. From there, they can easily set up and activate games to enhance their live broadcasts.

Controlling your cam room

When dealing with unruly members in your chat, you have several tools at your disposal. Simply click on the username of the offending viewer and choose from the following options:

• Kick: Removes the user from the room, but they can come back. (Please note: Using this option puts a negative mark on the member's account. Too many negative marks will lead to the loss of chat privileges for that member across the site.)
• Ban: Permanently removes the user from the room.
• Silence: Allows the user to stay in the room, but they can no longer use the chat.

You can also appoint someone as a Moderator to grant them access to these tools in your room.
