Good webcams are important for a good show. The question is which one to use? What are the pros and cons of different cams and how about the price? Every week well review a new webcam from e.a. Logitech, Microsoft and HP. All cams are in HD of course. The biggest name in the webcam branch is Logitech. They produce great cams and a lot of girls still use the Pro 9000 (which has undeniably been one of the best on the market). But the cam is a couple of years old, what are the newer top models? Microsoft LifeCam Cinema (mid-range) This webcam has a tough look because of his aluminum body. It gives the impression that it will never break. You can clip it to your computer by using the flexible rubber strip. The image quality is good at 1280 x 720 (or 720p) pixels. However, if you dont have enough light, it tends to go into full length focus at random and you can see a reddish glow. It might take a second or two to be in focus again. The still image resolution is 5 MP and the lowest of this selection. The LifeCam Cinema is Skype certified, which makes is very easy to use for you girls who are independent. The software itself can be a challenge sometimes, but for normal use it very doable. We recommend turning off the auto focus to avoid the problem stated above. This cam also has full rotation, but no face tracking. It has a noise reduction function and comes with a great 3 year warranty. You can pick this up for just over $40 at Amazon. Its a very good price for a decent cam. Similar webcam? i use a newer version of this cam in the begining it was frustrating because it kept zooming in and out but other wise it works great except when you use it alot it starts to get hot and the image starts to get blurry
had no problems with this cam, or hunting autofocus. Any cam will struggle if your lighting is inadequate, even my SLR s do that. the clip mount is a bit naff though. And microphone is mono, other than that, recommended.
I just got ripped off on ebay and they sent me a microsoft lifecam studio instead of a logitech. i hope its okay Smiley :(
